Adolescent Coaching
Anxiety, ADHD, & Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs)
Adolescence is a key transition period predicting future well-being. Today's teens are struggling with mental health, with one in five reporting a major depressive episode in the past year. Rising Hope has youth mental health specialists who guide young people in building resilience to life challenges including anxiety, ADHD, discipline issues, burn-out, grief, parental separation, Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs), and other stressful life circumstances. Adolescence 13-25) is a time of heightened vulnerability (18) and the majority of anxiety disorders emerge during this time (19). We offer a safe space for teens to overcome adversity and build a lasting resilience. Connect with us today!
The Neuroscience of Adolescent Behavior
At Rising Hope, we understand how challenging it can be for parents and caregivers when teens act out, show aggression, seem withdrawn, or struggle in school. These behaviors not only impact academic success but can also be a warning sign for future well-being. During adolescence, self-regulation is particularly difficult due to a still-developing brain and hormonal shifts. We specialize in helping teens recognize ways their brain influences their behaviors and we teach them how to "rewire" neural pathways for healthier responses and more positive outcomes at home, school, and in their social lives (11).

Symptoms of Anxiety & Teens
Stress and trauma, even from a single childhood experience, can have lasting effects on teens’ mental, emotional, and physical health. This stress can lead to symptoms like headaches, stomach aches, difficulty focusing, and sleep problems, or more serious issues like anxiety, depression, and behavioral disorders (10). Up to 65% of children with an anxious parent meet the criteria for an anxiety condition (18). At Rising Hope, we are committed to supporting teens and their families in resilience, connecting parents to outside resources when needed. We invite parents to remain with their child during a session(s).

Helping Youth Develop Coping Skills for a Brighter Tomorrow
The great news? Adolescence is the ideal time to help youth heal from anxiety and grow in resilience. The teen brain is highly adaptable during this stage of development due to increased neural pruning during puberty (15). At Rising Hope, our staff uses evidence-based strategies and techniques to reverse the effects of stress and trauma. We teach adolescents how to recognize triggers and reduce symptoms. We partner with parents and caregivers in fostering resilient youth and guide them toward a bright, healthier future!
